I receiveda lot of gold opportunities, Iwas appointed as a researchassistant in Spring 2010and from Fall 2010 to Fall2011, I was appointed as amember of DepartmentalAdvisory Committee atDepartment of EducationalLeadership and PolicyStudies, College of Education.The committee consists of thedepartment chair, coordinatorprograms (professors), officemanager, and one studentrepresentative (me). Involvingin this committee allows menot only to participate inmonthly meetings with othermembers, but also allows meto connect with the wholemembers of department. Asa result, I was chosen as acoordinator for the fall 2011orientation for new graduatestudents at Departmentof Educational Leadershipand Policy Studies, Collegeof Education, Florida StateUniversity. I was also chosenas a co-leader for fall 2011orientation at Graduateschool at University level.In addition, I was invitedby the Florida Departmentof Education to share myexperience with otherstudents in Florida. Thedissertation was alsofinancially supported bythe American-IndonesianCultural & EducationalFoundation, Inc. (AICEF).Mission impossible, butfinally completed within threeyears. I completed a PhD at atop public research universitywithin three years. Thanks,Fulbright, without generoussupport from Fulbright, Imay not have had enoughcourage to continue my studyin the U.S. and thanks, theInternational FellowshipProgram that has opened thefirst door for me to study amaster’s program abroad.Without the IFP program,studying abroad may be onlya dream for good.Amirul MukmininA faculty member at Faculty of Education, Jambi University, Indonesia.
