We met Peter Sellars last November <strong>in</strong> Rome dur<strong>in</strong>g the Romaeuropa Festival 2010. He was there for the<br />
Italian premiere of Kafka Fragments, the stag<strong>in</strong>g of the opera by György Kurtág. The American director<br />
talked about several topics: the idea of mythology <strong>in</strong> the present day; the concept of 'resonance'; how<br />
c<strong>in</strong>ema has <strong>in</strong>fluenced his approach to theater; montage <strong>in</strong> the art of theater, and the importance of<br />
classical culture <strong>in</strong> the found<strong>in</strong>g myths of America.<br />
