Long and sharp peaks, rocky spurs, sharp edges and wide slopes are the distinguishing features of Mount Terminillo
today. Originally, the mountain was home to a glacier, which has shaped the massif since ancient times.
The massif has three main summits: Terminillo itself, Terminilletto (2,108 m) and Terminilluccio (1,870 m). This grandiose
mountain range rises between the Rieti plain and the Leonessa plateau, and is crossed by the Velino River, whose curvy
stream digs narrow ravines along the mount’s slopes.
Many perennial springs flow from all around the massif, and serve as the main water resource for the surrounding
residential areas. Mount Terminillo welcomes visitors with its charming landscape, marked by sharp peaks, long valleys
and luxuriant vegetation. Thousands of different shades, the many scents of local flora (juniper, gentians, blueberries,
