Maintenance
ADJUSTING THE
SPLIT LUBRICATION
PUMP
To access the pump, remove the left cover.
The fuel valve and oil pump are controlled simultaneously by the
throttle, through a split cable system.
The oil pump is CORRECTL Y ADJUSTED when, with throttle completely
closed, pin (A) (see Fig. 12, page 29) keyed onto the pulley
comes just into contact with the mixer; the adjustment is made by
means of the adjustment screw (B), screwing in to decrease or out
to increase.
When oil runs low, the indicator light on the instrument panel comes
on.
CAUTION:
The use of low quality oil causes carbon deposits to increase,
compromising engine performance.
ADJUSTING
THE CLUTCH
SPARK ADVANCE
The clutch is hydraulic self-adjusting, so no adjustment is required.
Maintenance is limited to checking the fluid level, which must always
be at maximum.
This engine is equipped with an electronic flywheel with variable
advance. lt normally requires no adjustment; if it does, refer to the
Gilera sales and service organizations.
