Maintenance<br />
BATTERY<br />
lt is located on the right side of the cycle; for access, remove the<br />
side plate by loosening the two mounting screws.<br />
Check the level of electrolytic fluid, which must be kept between the<br />
marks on the outer shell of the battery (Fig. 21 ); if necessary refi l l<br />
with distilled water.<br />
CAUTION:<br />
- The battery contains sulfuric acid; avoid<br />
contact with eyes, skin and clothing; any<br />
contact should be rinsed off with abundant<br />
water.<br />
- In addition to the electrolyte level, also<br />
make sure the breather tube is properly<br />
connected to the battery and is not<br />
crimped.<br />
- Do not start the engine with battery<br />
cables disconnected.<br />
FUSE<br />
lt is located under the seat. lf it burns out frequently, there may be<br />
an overload in the system or a short circuit. In this case, see a<br />
<strong>Gilera</strong> dealer.<br />
CAUTION:<br />
Use only 15A fuses, as specified.<br />
