The ground layergenerally contains Wiry Panic (Entolasia stricta),Austrostipa pubescens, Saw Sedge (Gahnia clarkei)and Kangaroo Grass (Themeda australis). Smallershrubs such as Rice Flower (Pimelea linifolia) andPhyllota phylicoides also occur. Some sites have adense cover of Kangaroo Grass (Themeda australis),and the middle layer of shrubs may be sparse.The Horned sedge (Ptilothrix deusta) dominatesthe ground layer in some locations while othercommon species include Purple Flag (Patersoniasericea), Wiry Panic (Entolasia stricta), PinnateWedge Pea (Gompholobium pinnatum) and in onelocation, Slender Twine-rush (Leptocarpus tenax).Heathland VariantLocated on undulating topography and clay andsandy loam soils in the Red Range area, parts ofthe Coast Range on Corindi Conglomerate and alsosandstone plateaus at Anderson’s Mountain andDick’s Knob.
