At times there is a sparse emergent layer of Broad-leaved Paper-bark (Melaleuca quinquenervia).The dominant sedge is Jointed Twig Rush (Baumea articulata) that grows over two metres high. Other sedges mayinclude Baumea rubiginosa, Spike - rushes (Eleocharis spp.) and Giant Sedge (Lepironia articulata).
