by Henry van der Velde, Belgium architect<br />

and designer who is considered<br />

the originator of the Art Nouveau style,<br />

characterized by extended and stylized<br />

lines depicting natural subjects such<br />

as trees, flowers and human figures. A<br />

large book, measuring 10 x 15 inches<br />

and an inch and a half thick, featuring<br />

a double-page ornamental title, printed<br />

title with vignette, each part with separate<br />

title, head- and tail-pieces, all<br />

printed in purple and gold, text printed<br />

in black and gold, type designed in<br />

1900 by G. Lemmen and Harry<br />

Kessler. A very good copy, fresh and<br />

bright pages. Some usual wearings to<br />
