periodo si nota che la frenata è, almeno in
parte, strutturale. Nel 2018 il sistema aveva
prodotto 2,1 milioni di tonnellate, ora sono
quasi 250.000 in meno, cioè una riduzione vicina
al 12%.
Ecco allora emergere la necessità, in assenza
di strumenti per loro natura emergenziali, di
misure strutturali per ridurre il gap e permettere
alle imprese italiane di giocare ad armi
pari con i competitor internazionali. Un dossier
su cui l’associazione è da tempo al lavoro e che
comprende, fra l’altro, la necessaria revisione
dei meccanismi di electricity e gas release
che, per come sono stati strutturati e stante
le evoluzioni dei mercati energetici, non hanno
raggiunto l’obiettivo per il quale erano stati
pensati.
Il settore continua, intanto, a confrontarsi sui
temi della sostenibilità: con il 21% in media
degli investimenti dedicato agli aspetti ambientali,
ben oltre il dato relativo all’industria
manifatturiera italiana complessivamente
intesa, le fonderie italiane si confermano un
benchmark di riferimento in termini di impegno
per il contenimento dell’impatto ambientale.

Energy is therefore still an issue to be carefully
monitored, in light of the trend of the last period,
because beyond the drop in terms of tonnes
produced in 2022, a broader look at the medium
term shows that the slowdown is, at least in
part, structural. In 2018, the system produced
2.1 million tonnes; this figure now stands at almost
250,000 less, a reduction close to 12% in
other words.
Here therefore, in the absence of tools that
are by their very nature emergency-related,
emerges the need for structural measures to
reduce the gap and allow Italian companies to
play on equal terms with international competitors.
This is a dossier on which the association
has been working for some time and which includes,
among other things, a necessary revision
of the electricity and gas release mechanisms,
which, as they were structured and given
the evolutions in the energy markets, have
not achieved the objective for which they were
designed.
In the meantime, the sector continues to deal
with sustainability issues: with an average of
21% of investments dedicated to environmental
