In this review edition, we look back at the various “Where to go in Paris” features that have graced our pages in the past issues, for which we would like to take this opportunity of warmly thanking all those who participated, giving us their “insider tips”. Gérard Lefebvre (right) President & Founder, Cleverdis Publisher, IFTM Daily Jean-François Pieri (left) Executive Director, Cleverdis Managing Director, IFTM Daily In our preview edition, we heard from journalist Dominique Hutin. One of his favourite places? “…When I want to get back to basics, I am reminded that I am from Normandy, and head to Pomze, near Saint-Lazare train station, which runs services to Normandy. In this restaurant, a Japanese chef produces fantastic dishes based around cider. Long forgotten, this traditional - and natural - drink is enjoying an incredible boom that resonates as far as Africa and the United States.” On day one of IFTM Top Resa, the renowned Chef, Jonathan Datin told us, “I love mushrooms, and they can be found in abundance at the champignonnière de Marianne in Méry-Sur-Oise, one of the last Paris mushroom specialists.” Day two, Jean-Mary Marchal, Head of Promotion and Press Relations, Le Petit Futé & Bénédicte Moulet, Sales Director, Le Petit Futé explained, “A great place to go is Marché D’Aligre (Aligre Market) near the Bastille. Here, you can taste and sample fresh authentic foods such as seafood with giant oysters arriving directly from Brittany.” Day three, Iris Mittenaere, Miss France 2016 gave us a younger person’s point of view: “Le Marais is really nice; there are a lot of great restaurants and bars there, and it’s an excellent place for young people to hang out. It’s one of the most beautiful parts of Paris.” And on day four of the show, French TV host Alexandre Debanne told us about his favourite place to dine: “It’s called Le Petit Poucet (Hop-o’-my Thumb) on La Jatte Island – in between Neuilly-sur- Seine and Levallois-Perret. It’s right at the end of the island. The restaurant’s been there forever, and the food is excellent. But above all, it’s extremely convivial. You feel as though you’re out in the country, in the middle of Paris.” … Tips to keep in mind when you come back for next year’s show. And while you’re at it, it would be a wise idea to plan a couple of extra days in Paris, the city of lights, and the world’s capital of gastronomy and style! • Preview Edition • CLICK HERE • Day 1 Edition • • Day 2 Edition • • Day 3 Edition • CLICK HERE CLICK HERE CLICK HERE To read each interview in its entirety, click here • Day 4 Edition • CLICK HERE IFTM Daily • Monday 3 rd October 2016 www.iftmdaily.com
