BYLAAG H3: Hoe gemeentes skole kan ondersteun - Me N Bashman
13. For Educators who also are in churches we plead with churches to support them in
maybe the following ways:
• Stress Management
• Finance Management
• Wellness Programmes in churches together with Peer Pressure Programmes
• Prayers specifically for Educators e.g. Teachers’ Month in October (05 October 2012 is
the Teachers’ Day)
• Family Counselling – where needed
• Engage them in church activities. Let teachers be busy in our churches
• Motivation session for educators – help them bring back their dignity as Teachers where
you think this is a problem.
14. Discipline/Behaviour/Drug abuse/Social Misbehaviours/Moral issues, etc. The
above listed are critical problems around learners and we would urge the churches
to share with us workable solutions to these challenges.
15. Churches to advocate vigilantly during the ADMISSION TIME (June/July/August) so
that parents don’t delay the start of Teaching in schools e.g. KwaNobuhle,
Uitenhage, Despatch, Addo, Kirkwood, Humansdorp
16. Most importantly, as churches, initiate PRAYER MEETINGS for schools particularly
closer to examinations, beginning of school terms and even conduct assemblies
rotationally in consultation with the schools
16. Parents with disabled learners to be encouraged to come out
and talk about them and refer them to the Department (ESSS
Section). Churches are in a better situation to know if their
congregants have such children hidden at home. Contact us
if so at (041) 995 4002 or (041) 995 4166 and talk to
MAGDA or Mr Spies or Mr Grundling
17. Last but not least, churches must create a church-based data
of jobless/retired members and what skills they have. We
need churches to share this information with us as we
sometimes need such skills to help in some schools.
