Start at the Morumbeca Inn fence. Cross the fence on the “entorta mulato,” go
right and cross a small creek. In the forest, zig zag uphill to the entrance of the
first hole. There are two other small entrances on the left.

A Trilha da Mina se encontra na região da Morumbeca dos Marreiros, também
conhecida pelos habitantes locais como Muribeca. Era ali que se refugiavam os
índios Purys, após as atrocidades cometidas em outras regiões. Palavra de origem
tupi, Muribeca significa lugar de alimentos, de fartura, onde os solos são
férteis. As cavas existentes no local são resquícios da exploração mineral, que
os garimpeiros buscavam nos altos de serra, junto a córregos e riachos.
The Mine Trail is on the Morumbeca dos Marreiros region, also called Muribeca
by locals. This was where the Pury (indigenous tribe) sought refuge from the
atrocities perpetrated in other regions. Muribeca is a Tupi word and means
place of food, abundant place where the soil is fertile. The holes come from
mining exploitation near streams and creeks.
