THE INFLUENCE OF LAW IN ROMAM LAW WEST: BRIEF OBSERVATIONS<br />
ABSTRACT: In seeking to understand the current legal syst<strong>em</strong> is essential to study the Roman law. It appears that<br />
the legal institutions of Roman civilization were important to the making and development of legal syst<strong>em</strong>s of various<br />
countries that have incorporated explicitly and syst<strong>em</strong>atically in his paternal duty. Other legal syst<strong>em</strong>s derived<br />
from ancient civilizations <strong>em</strong>erged without exerting influence in modern legislation. In terms of legal doctrine,<br />
Lopes (2008), Giordano (1996) and Alves (1995) focus that there is no other legislation that equates to the Roman<br />
law, as an instrument of legal education, laboratory and field observation of the r<strong>em</strong>arkable phenomenon in all<br />
legal its aspects and highlight the legacy of Roman law which was organized un der the reign of Justinian. Thus, this<br />
paper aims to analyze the compilation of Justinian, which continues to be reflected in the Western legal syst<strong>em</strong>s as<br />
an expression of legal and social life of the people who formed the most organized <strong>em</strong>pire in the ancient world.<br />
