eclética, o seu tempo chega para a música (canto,
escrita e composição) e para o cinema. Prepara-
-se para gravar o álbum Berlin Telegram Record.
She is French, of Iraqi origin. She is based between
Belgium, Germany and France. An eclectic artist,
she divides her time between music (singing, writing
and composing) and directing films. She is beginning
to record the disc Berlin Telegram Record.

Leila está de coração partido. A sua relação acabou repentinamente
como um telegrama febril: “Apanha um avião stop, voa stop, eu acredito
em ti stop, faço isto por nós stop”. O que dói mais quando se é
abandonado? O facto de ser de um momento para o outro. A decisão
que sai da cabeça de uma pessoa sem qualquer pré-aviso. E o outro
fica por conta própria a lidar com a solidão. Acabar com alguém não
é um bolo de aniversário que se serve como surpresa e, depois de
apagadas as velas e de ficar escuro, desaparece-se. É um momento
de escolha: proteges-te ou mudas e começas de novo? Se te protegeres
bloqueias tudo: a vida, as surpresas, o amor... só fica o tabaco.
Leila mudou a sua vida para tentar lidar com o bolo de aniversário.
Levanta-se todas as manhãs e põe música a tocar. Está pronta para se
apaixonar outra vez, mesmo que isso signifique estar em risco, porque
viver é isso mesmo.
Leila is heartbroken, a sudden breakup comes like a hectic telegram
"Take a plane stop, fly away stop, you’re going to be someone stop, I
believe in you stop, I’m doing this for us stop". What hurts the most in
abandonment? Its suddeness. The decision that pops out of a person’s
head without any prior notice. Leaving the other all alone to deal with
emptiness. Breaking up is not a birthday cake that you serve as a surprise
and after the candles are blown and is dark you disappear. It’s the
moment of choise, do you start protecting yourself or you change and
start over? Protecting yourself cuts you off from everything, life, surprises,
love... but not smoking. Leila changed her life to cope with her
birthday cake, gets up every morning and plays music, she is ready to
love again putting herself at risk again cause that’s what is called living.

Sou música e é assim que ultrapasso momentos difíceis. A criar e a partilhar. Os
meus encontros são reais e, assim, também o são as pessoas do filme. Sou eu
através delas e elas através de mim. (…) Uma história sobre caminhos que se
cruzam, sobre a reaprendizagem da vida amorosa e a abertura para o mundo.
I'm a musician and that's how I overcome difficult times. Creating and sharing. My
encounters are real and therefore so are the people in the film. It's me through
them, and them through me. (…) A story of crossing paths, of relearning to love
life and opening up to the world.
