Estudou cinema e inglês na Universidade de Paris
7. Realizou a sua primeira curta, House Hunting,
para o canal de televisão francês Canal+. Começou
a trabalhar no que seria a sua primeira longa
metragem, Voie Rapide, durante um workshop de
argumento na La Fémis.

He directed his first short film, House Hunting,
for the french TV channel Canal Plus. During a
scriptwriting workshop at the Fémis film school
he started working on what would become his
first feature, Voie Rapide.

A paixão pelos carros e pela velocidade na estrada absorve a vida
de Alex, afastando-o cada vez mais da sua companheira Rachel e da
filha de ambos. Ao conduzir o seu carro amarelo na via rápida, Alex
atropela, sem querer, um jovem, e foge. Um sentimento de culpa crescente
faz com que Alex não consiga esquecer o incidente. Primeira
longa-metragem de Christophe Sahr, Voie rapide é sem dúvida uma
das grandes surpresas do cinema francês actual, pondo em marcha
uma narrativa bem sustentada e um domínio seguro das imagens,
que nalguns pontos do filme são um piscar de olho a Cronenberg e
ao seu filme Crash.
The passion for cars and speed absorbs Alex’s life, pulling him away
from his companion Rachel and their daughter. When driving his yellow
car on the freeway, Alex accidentaly runs over a young man and
runs. As guilt grows inside him, he is unable to forget the incident.
Christophe Sahr’s first feature, Voie rapide is definitely one of the great
surprises of French filmmaking today, operating a well sustained narrative
and a confident dominion of images that sometimes wink at
Cronenberg and his film Crash.
