O SEGREDO DO SUCESSO<br />
A nova linha de scanners oferecida pela Microtec se<br />
divide em dois grupos: Goldeneye e Woodeye. O primeiro<br />
foi desenvolvido e dedicado a avaliação de madeira mole<br />
(de reflorestamento) e o segundo tem seu foco em madeira<br />
dura (nativa ou tropical). Stefan Nilsson, CSO da Microtec<br />
Linköping, valoriza o trabalho realizado junto com a equipe<br />
sediada na Itália para que a nova linha de scanners fosse<br />
lançada. “Com a nova plataforma comum para escaneamento<br />
longitudinal, levaremos as soluções de escaneamento de<br />
madeira a um nível totalmente novo”, enfatiza Nilsson.<br />
A linha Goldeneye conta com até cinco métodos de<br />
avaliação da madeira em seus seis modelos de scanner. O<br />
primeiro é o sistema de triangulação a laser, que consegue<br />
fazer a análise de toda a tábua, em todos os ângulos. Este<br />
processo é o mais simples e visual da máquina, pois é a<br />
verificação superficial, que mede a tábua com precisão e<br />
verifica se existe algum tipo de curvatura ou outros defeitos<br />
relacionados às dimensões da madeira.<br />

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS<br />
The new line of scanners offered by Microtec is divided<br />
into two groups: Goldeneye and Woodeye. The first<br />
was developed and dedicated to the evaluation of softwood<br />
and the second has its focus on hardwood. Stefan<br />
Nilsson, Chief Sales Officer for Microtec Linköping, values<br />
the work done with the team based in Italy to launch the<br />
new line of scanners. “With the new common platform for<br />
longitudinal scanning, we will take wood scanning solutions<br />
to a whole new level,” Nisson emphasizes.<br />
The six-scanner model Goldeneye line has up to five<br />
methods of wood evaluation. The first is the laser triangulation<br />
system, which can analyze the entire board from all<br />
angles. This process is the simplest and most visual because<br />
it is a surface check, which accurately measures the<br />
board and verifies if there is any kind of curvature or other<br />
defects related to the board’s dimensions.<br />
The second process is the analysis of the longitudinal<br />
wood fibers. This procedure also uses high-precision lasers<br />
to observe whether or not the tree’s natural fiber has<br />
been followed when cut, which facilitates use and ensures<br />
a more pleasant visual result in the final product, as well as<br />
helping manufacture.<br />
Following comes the third process, where the wood<br />
coloration is evaluated, indicating some structural problems,<br />
such as knots, cracks, or even some colored part<br />
that departs from the rest of the board.<br />
The fourth is the Multi-View X-ray system. Federico<br />
Giudiceandrea, Founder and President of Microtec, points<br />
out that this new system can verify the internal timber<br />
structure and density, or strength, accurately determining<br />
defects and heartwood displacement size for a knot in the<br />
lumber. “This allows for the detection of ultra-thin division<br />
and unprecedented levels of accuracy in automated classification<br />
according to the Grading Rule for Dimension<br />
Lumber,” highlights Giudiceandrea.<br />
