SALVIA OFFICINALIS L. GENOTYPES WITH DIFFERENT ESSENTIAL OIL
CONTENT AND COMPOSITION. Gonceariuc Maria, Kulcitki Veaceslav, Balmuş Zinaida,
Gonceariuc Natalia, Sîrbu Tatiana, Cuzmina Elvira. // Buletinul Academiei de Ştiinţe a
Moldovei. Ştiinţele vieţii. 2012, No 2 (317), p. 70-75.
This article presents the results of the studies on essential oil content, qualitative and quantitative
composition in Salvia offi cinalis L. genotypes cultivated in the Republic of Moldova. The
essential oil content in fi ve Salvia offi cinalis L. genotypes varies with the genotype and harvest
phase in both leaved shoots, leaves and infl orescences. The highest content of essential oil was
registered in the material harvested following fl ower and seed fall and made 1.455-1.823%
(dry matter) in leaved shoots and 1.408-1.749% (dry matter) in leaves. A GC-MS analysis
revealed that 14-23 components were identifi ed in the essential oil extracted from leaved shoots
and 17-25 components from leaves. The major components are represented by monoterpene
ketones: α-thujone (21.2-38.8), β-thujone (5.877-16.201%), camphor (17.5-24.6%), followed
by eucalyptol (6.47- 11.2%). All the genotypes belong to the thujone /camphor /eucalyptol
chemotype.
GENETIC HETEROGENEITY OF TOMATO MUTANT FORMS FOR THE MALE
GAMETOPHYTE RESISTANCE TO HEAT, DROUGHT AND COLD. Makovei M.
// Buletinul Academiei de Ştiinţe a Moldovei. Ştiinţele vieţii. 2012, No 2 (317), p. 76-84.
This paper presents the assessment results on tomato mutant collection resistance to a
range of stressful environmental factors (heat, drought, cold) at the stage of mature male gametophyte.
Mutant lines with different levels and types of resistance have been identifi ed. It is
shown that the resistance to high and low temperatures, as well as to drought is determined by
different genetic systems, which indicates the polygenic nature of these symptoms. Genotypes
have been identifi ed that are promising for breeding and highly resistant to all the stress factors
studied.
MANIFESTATION OF HETEROSIS IN F 1 POLYCROSS HYBRID OF
LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA MIIL. Butnaraş Violeta. // Buletinul Academiei de Ştiinţe
a Moldovei. Ştiinţele vieţii. 2012, No 2 (317), p. 84-91.
In this study, one hundred and forty F 1 polycross hybrids of Lavandula angustifolia were
evaluated and ten perspective hybrids were selected, that differ in the value of quantitative characters,
the vegetation period, the corolla color etc. The heterosis effect was evaluated for these
characters relative to the maternal forms. The plant height of the perspective polycross hybrids
is 48-67 cm, the infl orescence length varies between 24.0 cm and 35.3 cm, and the length of
fl oral ear between 4.032% and 5.165% (dry matter). The heterosis effect manifested in the
F 1 polycross hybrids for the “plant height” recorded the values varying between +1.0% and
+36.1%; “the number of fl oral stems” between +11.4 and +10-9,8%, and “the length of infl orescence”
between 1.3% and 82.0%. The manifestation of the heterosis effect for the character
of “the essential oil content” in the lavender hybrids is the highest and varies in the limits of
