BIOSYNTHESIS OF CARBOHYDRATES IN SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE<br />

The article presents the results of the impact of different carbon sources (glucose, saccharose,<br />

fructose, mannose, molasses), sulfate, acetate, and four coordinative zinc compounds on<br />

carbohydrate biosynthesis in the Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. A new culture medium is<br />

proposed, which increases the carbohydrate content in yeast biomass by 44.3%.<br />

A nutrient medium has been developed, which allows a rapid indication of Candida spp.<br />

fungi. The method makes it possible to obtain a preliminary result at 9 hours after inoculation<br />

of the pathology material in comparison with conventional methods. This nutrient medium is<br />

simple to be used and available for microbiological laboratories of various levels.<br />

CRUENTUM MICROALGA EXTRACTS USING VEGETAL PREPARATIONS.<br />

The article considers the feasibility of employment of polyphenol additives isolated from<br />

grape (var. Cabernet) seeds as protective agents (stabilizers) of the antioxidant activity of the<br />

extracts from red microalgae Porphyridium cruentum. It has been found that 55%, 65% and<br />

96% ethanolic extracts from grape seeds are capable to stabilize antioxidants produced from<br />

Porphyridium biomass when used at low concentrations.<br />
