MUTANT TOMATO FORMS AS A SOURCE OF ECONOMICALLY VALUABLE
TRAITS FOR BREEDING. Makovei M.D., Ganea A. I. // Buletinul Academiei de Ştiinţe a
Moldovei. Ştiinţele vieţii. 2012, No 2 (317), p. 91-100.
This paper presents the most important morphological/biological and economically valuable
features of collectible tomato mutant forms in relation to the breeding objectives. The genetic
diversity of the mutant forms concentrated in the collection of the Center of Plant Genetic
Resources has been shown. Forms with a stable manifestation of the traits studied, that may be
included in breeding programs for their further use in the development of tomato varieties and
hybrids have been identifi ed.
THE STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF ASIATIC CYPRINID POPULATIONS
IN THE INTENSIVE EUTROPHICATION CONDITIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF
MOLDOVA AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS. Bulat Dumitru, Bulat Denis, Toderaş Ion, Usatîi
Marin, Toderaş Lidia, Fulga Nina, Şaptefraţi Nicolae. // Buletinul Academiei de Ştiinţe a Moldovei
. Ştiinţele vieţii. 2012, No 2 (317), p. 100-117.
This article analyses the situation of allogenic species of Asiatic origin (silver carp, grass
carp, bighead carp) in the conditions of the Republic of Moldova beginning from their introduction
in 1961 and to the present. It has been demonstrated that their effect is not invasive, the
share being well controlled through fi sh population and extraction intensity. The abundance of
these species has drastically increased in the natural aquatic ecosystems as a result of powerful
fl oods that occurred in 2008 and 2010. In the condition of their possible naturalization, Asiatic
cyprinids could become potentially invasive due to the accentuated competitive effect and
unexpressed trophical selectivity. In addition, these species are basic objects of national fi shing
and important biological ameliorators that may control the active eutrophication phenomenon
of aquatic ecosystems.
