ABSTRACTDOES THE STATE OF THE STUDENTS’ İNTERNET USAGE EFFECT THEPERFORMANCE TASKS TYPES OF PROJECT AND THE TEACHERBEHAVİOURS?İhsan AKARSUJuly, 2008The aim of this study is to survey views of internet usage while doing project andperformance tasks. In this study survey method which is one of the methods ofdescriptive research has been used. The universe of this study is composed of 37876students who are 6.,7., and 8. grade students in Küçükçekmece and the sample of thestudy is 432 students. The data is gathered with four different scales which aredeveloped by the researchers.According to the data of the first question, there is significant difference between theopinion of the students’ using of the internet both projects and performance tasks andtheir teachers’ behaviours with respect to the place of the using internet and the levelof the internet usage. According to the data of the second question, there is asignificant difference between the opinion of the students’ using of the internet bothprojects and performance tasks and their teachers’ behaviours with respect to gendersand class grades. According to the data of the third question, there is a significantdifference between the frequency of the students’ using of the internet both projectsand performance tasks and the frequency of using internet which teachers want fromtheir students change with respect to the kinds of the school subjects.Keywords: Project, performance task, use of internet.iv
