occupancy rate of the department increased from
42 percent to 92 percent. In the department, where
the preference rate increased 208 percent, the
quotas of 9 universities reached 100 percent.
Future anxiety is removed for the youth
For this big step taken in the name of positive
change in the sector, President of İHKİB Mustafa
Gültepe said “The “My Favorite is Textile Engineering”
project, which we started with the awareness
of the need for qualified manpower in our
sector, has been concluded very successfully last
year. With the project we presented to students
who took the university entrance exam, we gave
scholarships of minimum wage to students whose
first 5 choices were Textile Engineering and ranked
among the first 20,000. Those between 20 and 50
thousand benefited from non-refundable scholarships
amounting to 70 percent of the net minimum
wage, and students between 50 and 80 thousand,
50 percent of the net minimum wage. As the second
biggest exporting sectors of our country, we
want students to focus solely on their education
throughout their school life and to graduate from
their departments in the best possible way”.
The youth pours in textile
For the power of the sector and wide fields of
work, İTHİB President Ahmet Öksüz said “Textile and
ready-to-wear sectors are one of the areas where
our country is the strongest in the world arena and
is the 6th largest in the world and the 2nd largest
supplier in Europe. While our industry is printing its
name in gold letters in the world, we are sure that
the next generations will bring our country to much
better positions in the international arena. For this
reason, the successes achieved in our project
last year and the increase in department points
showed us that our young people realized their
potential in the sector, not just about scholarship.
We do not just give scholarships. We offer our students
internship opportunities while studying and
we guarantee a job upon graduation. Students
who will step into this department can have the
chance to work in all production stages of the
textile and ready-to-wear sectors or in the production
planning, sales and marketing departments of
enterprises or they can carry out integrated studies
with other sectors. We promise our young people
good opportunities in our sector and we entrust
our future to them. We would like to state that we
will always be with our students while we plan to
continue our project for years and aim to provide
qualified workforce to our industry”
According to information released by Presidential
Human Resources Office, the human and physical
investments will continue for the Textile Engineering
Department which is at the first rank in the professions
in which the job opportunities are found fast in Turkey.

GENÇLER TEKSTİLE AKIN EDİYOR
Sektörün gücü ve geniş çalışma alanları için
İTHİB Başkanı Ahmet Öksüz: “Tekstil ve hazırgiyim
sektörleri dünya arenasında ülkemizin en
güçlü olduğu alanlardan biri olup dünyanın
en büyük 6’ncı, Avrupa’nın en büyük 2’nci
büyük tedarikçisi konumundadır. Sektörümüz
dünyada adını altın harflerle yazdırırken
bizden sonra gelecek nesillerin ülkemizi
uluslararası arenada çok daha iyi noktalara
getireceğinden eminiz. Bu nedenle projemizde
geçtiğimiz sene elde edilen başarılar ve
bölüm puanlarında yaşanan artışın sadece
burs odaklı olmadığını gençlerimizin sektördeki
potansiyelinin farkına vardığını bizlere
gösterdi. Biz sadece burs vermekle kalmıyoruz.
Öğrencilerimize okurken staj imkanı sunuyor
ve mezun olunca iş garantisi veriyoruz.
Bu bölüme adım atacak öğrenciler tekstil ve
hazırgiyim sektörlerinin tüm üretim aşamalarında
veya işletmelerin üretim planlama,
satış ve pazarlama bölümlerinde çalışma
şansı bulabilir ya da diğer sektörlerle entegre
çalışmalar gerçekleştirebilirler. Gençlerimize
sektörümüz içinde güzel imkanlar vadediyor
ve geleceğimizi onlara emanet ediyoruz.
Projemizi yıllarca sürdürmeyi planlayıp,
sektörümüze nitelikli iş gücü kazandırmayı hedeflerken
öğrencilerimizin her daim yanında
olacağımızı belirtmek istiyoruz” dedi.
Cumhurbaşkanlığı İnsan Kaynakları Ofisi tarafından
açıklanan bilgilere göre Türkiye’nin
en hızlı iş bulunan meslekleri arasında birinci
sırada yer alan Tekstil Mühendisliği bölümü
için beşeri ve fiziki yatırımlar sürecek.
