A concrete significance of the new hall
consists mainly in extended technical
possibilities which facilitate and
accelerate preparation of vehicles for
individual tests, especially in winter
period and under unfavourable climatic
conditions. For this purpose, the hall is
equipped
VUZ opened the new hall for
testing preparation
On 16 November 2011, the Railway
Research Institute, CO. (VUZ) inaugurated
and baptized the new hall for preparation
of testing (HPZ II), situated in the Test
Centre VUZ Velim. The unique hall for its
technical equipment is able to meet the
most exacting requirements of clients and
owing to that the Test Centre VUZ Velim will
reinforce its front position among similar
testing centres in Europe. The structure of
the hall, 144 m long and more than 17 m
wide, is singular also thanks to a short
time in which it was built - its construction
lasted only 4 months!
In the opening ceremony and baptism of
the new hall, there were present not only
the important representatives of VUZ
as an investor and the firm Chládek and
Tintěra, CO, Pardubice as a contractor of
the hall but also the representatives of
the VUZ significant customers. Jaroslav
Grim, VUZ director general recalled before
a ceremonial baptism of the new hall that
the completed construction is a part of
a long-term conception: „It can be called
one of the important stages of a total
modernization of Test Centre VUZ Velim.
This year, it is a third significant step –
the upgrading of railway infrastructure
at Large Test Ring was finished at the
beginning of July and verification of
its capacity for speed of 230 km/hod
done through a demanding loading
test passed off in October. These new
quality parameters could be also reached
because of a previous modernization of
a supply station and reconstruction of
catenary. We believe that this new hall
will satisfy needs of our clients whose
requirements and demand for such
a technically equipped hall with a modern
base was actually a decisive impulse for
its building“.
by a double-track of top level, a checking
manhole situated in one of them enables
together with a special technique to
dismantle components in bogies or under
floor of vehicles.
The possibility to perform manipulation
and repairs on vehicle roofs means
another advantage. Full-portal gantry
crane of capacity of 5t is at disposal too.
A special gangway situated along the track
with a manhole provides access and work
on railway vehicles roofs. Both tracks are
built as ongoing i.e. they continue behind
the hall and thus it is possible to extend
the hall to 210 m.
The administrative part of the hall - a steel
structure added to a western facade - is
used as a base for testing teams of clients.
These spaces include eleven offices,
a conference room, social equipment,
store and technical spaces, transformer
station and compressor room.
Along the hall, there are other sidings
extending a parking capacity. A hardwearing
area along the hall enables
access to road vehicles, including their
parking.
Antonín Blažek, deputy director general of
the Czech Railways of passenger transport
also participated in the opening of this
new hall for testing preparation and
accurately named and indicated the VUZ
message through this structure, being
above-standard both in quality and speed
of its building up in European conditions.
In his mind, the railway transport in
Europe, being always developed, has
the future and VUZ proved through
this construction to be a competitive,
functional and well managed firm within
the whole Europe.
Another CZ LOKO locomotive
for the Polish market
Another new vehicle designed for the
Polish customer was dispatched from the
Jihlava CZ LOKO manufacturing plant at
the beginning of October 2011. It was
a biaxial motor locomotive 797.823-2for
the KopalniaWeglaBrunatnego „Adamów“
S.A (Turek - Wielkopolska) coal mining
company. The locomotive should be
operated there on the local KWB brown
coal siding as well as in the nearby power
plant. The locomotive series 797.8, driven
by the Caterpillar C9 diesel engine with the
output of 250 kW,has been approved in
Poland since the year 2008. At that time,
based on the excellent references obtained
from the Prague Transportation Enterprise
(Pražský Dopravní Podnik), the CZ LOKO
Company has delivered the 797.819-0
locomotive to the Warsaw subway (Metro
Warszawskie).
On its way to the customer, the 797.823-
2 locomotive has stopped in Gdansk in
northern Poland where it was introduced
as an exhibit on the then 9th international
railway fair, TRAKO. Together with this
locomotive, the CZ LOKO Company
exhibited there also the universal motor
truck MUV 74.001, a new type of a special
machine for construction, modernization,
repairs or maintenance of railways.
The CZ LOKO Company thus continues its
activities on the Polish market where it
asserts itself successfully with the offer of
high-quality repairs of the Czech dieselelectric
locomotives of the S-200 and T 448-
P types. Recently, it has also been possible
to notice extension of the technical –
production cooperation between CZ LOKO
and the important Polish manufacturer,
PESA BydgoszczS.A.; in particular, the
cooperation is developing in the area of
complex innovation of railway vehicles.
