Acknowledgement
I’m glad to see that “fashion art,” a new art field, has gradually
matured and become influential. In 2006, along with our sister-school
Hongik University, we hosted the first China and
South Korea exchange meeting on “paper material” here. Let
me express my appreciation to every student and professor for
their efforts to maintain the two universities’ leading position
in the fashion art field. We have constantly been exploring
the definition, origin and future of fashion art through the
process of trial and practice. With worldwide fashion artists’
efforts and exploration, fashion art has matured and become
influential. China and South Korea have shared a common
traditional culture during our previous communication process.
But South Korea has carried out profound research and
exploration in inheriting and developing the spirit of this traditional
culture, which is the mission and responsibility for the
new-generation of young Chinese artists and designers. With
the exchange and cooperation, we hope to promote the fashion
art field to a new height and continuously carry forward
the wisdom and friendship of these two universities. Finally, I
hope that the 2016 China and South Korea Fashion Art Exhibition—“Between”
to be a complete success.
