Today, many forecasts also suggest that the future of world energy is electricity that should be produced from environmentally friendly sources. Renewable Energy Sources Will Develop, Oil&Gas Still to Dominate in Supplies “Nearly two thirds of the increase in global energy demand is for power generation, as the world economy continues to electrify,” says BP Energy Outlook 2017, released by BP at the end of January. “Renewables are the fastest growing fuel source, quadrupling over the next 20 years. Even so, fossil fuels remain the dominant source of global energy supplies (77%) in 2035,” BP reports. №1 2017 ВОЗОБНОВЛЯЕМЫЕ ИСТОЧНИКИ SOURCE / ИСТОЧНИК: BP “Global demand for energy is expected to climb about 25 percent by 2040”, ExxonMobil said in its 2017 Outlook for Energy, released in December 2016. “Essentially all of this demand growth will come from non-OECD nations, particularly the expanding economies in the Asia Pacific region. Continuing urbanization and a significant expansion of the middle class, particularly in China and India, will help drive this trend, highlighted by greater access to modern energy in homes, rising industrial demand, and significant increases in personal and commercial transportation needs,” the reports says. “Growth in global energy demand will be led by the increasing electrification of the global economy; 55 percent of the world’s energy demand growth over the next quarter century will be tied to power generation to support our increasingly digital and plugged-in lives. A consequence of this trend will be a large uptick in demand for many types of energy used to generate electricity, notably less carbon-intensive sources such as natural gas, nuclear, solar and wind,” according to the report. Oil and gas will contribute 60% by 2040, with nuclear and renewable energy 25% share. Electricity share, generated by solar and wind stations, will grow 360%, 15% of the global power generation. The expansion of solar and wind power generation will not materially affect world oil demand, as oil accounts for only about 4% of the world’s electricity, LUKOIL outlined in its MAJOR TRENDS IN GLOBAL OIL MARKET TO 2030 report, presented early December 2016 in Moscow. “Oil and renewables are not antagonists, since there is a limited room for competition between oil and renewables.” According to LUKOIL, the investments in renewables sector are already comparable to oil and gas (in 2015 $329 bln in total was invested in renewables). “With comparable costs, the volume of renewable energy produced is 12 times less than that of the energy generated from oil, which suggests the low economic performance of renewables. Meanwhile, given the targets many countries have set for themselves as part of the Paris Agreement on Climate, one may expect that the share of renewables in the global energy balance will continue to grow,” LUKOIL said. In October 2016 the International Energy Agency significantly increased its five-year (2015-2021) growth forecast for renewables thanks to strong policy support in key countries, the United States, China, India and Mexico, and sharp cost четырехкратный рост, хотя ископаемые топлива по-прежнему будут доминировать в глобальных поставках энергоносителей в объеме 77%. На долю нефти и природного газа, считают в компании, придется к 2040 году около 60%, а доля атомной энергетики и ВИЭ достигнет 25%. Доля электричество, вырабатываемого с использованием солнечной и ветровой энергии, к этому сроку вырастет на 360%, составив 15% от мирового объеме выработки электричества. «Распространение солнечной и ветрогенерации не окажет существенного влияния на мировой спрос на нефть, поскольку на долю нефти приходится лишь около 4% производимой в мире электроэнергии», – отмечается в отчете «Основные тенденции мирового рынка нефти до 2030 года», представленном компанией «ЛУКОЙЛ» в декабре 2016 года. В российской нефтяной компании считают, что нефть и ВИЭ – не антагонисты и возможности для их конкуренции ограничены.
