hazırlanan kitap, yurtdışında Harvard, Yale, John
Hopkins University, University of Chicago gibi
dünyanın önde gelen bilim kurumlarında ve yurtiçinde
de ülkemizin bu alanda en başarılı kurumlarında
araştırma yapan başarılı Türk tıp insanlarının
öykülerini anlatıyor.
Çalışmada, Türk tıp insanları, uluslararası literatürde
kabul edilen “H-endeksi” ölçütüne göre sıralandı.
H-endeksi, bilim insanlarının yaptığı araştırmaların
aldığı atıf sayısını gösteriyor. H-endeksi ne kadar
yüksekse, bilim insanının araştırmaları alanında o
kadar çığır açıcı nitelik taşıyor. Kitapta H-endeksi
50’nin üzerinde 16 Türk tıp insanı bulunuyor.
Tıp Bilimine Yön Veren 100 Türk araştırmasında öyküsü
anlatılanlardan, Harvard Üniversitesi’nde çalışmalarını
yürüten Gökhan Hotamışlıgil en son araştırma ekibiyle
birlikte, kolesterol seviyesi hücre içinde yükseldiğinde
uyarı veren ve kolesterolün zararlı etkilerine karşı
hücreleri koruyan bir mekanizma geliştirmiştir.
The book prepared by Turkishtime under the sponsorship
of Sanko Holding tells the stories of successful Turkish
medical people who are doing research in the world’s
leading scientific institutions such as Harvard, Yale, John
Hopkins University, University of Chicago and the most
successful institutions of our country in this field.
In the study, Turkish medical people were ranked according
to the “H-index”, accepted in the international
literature. The H-index shows the number of citations
that scientists have received from research. The higher
the H-index, the more ground-breaking in the research
field of the scientist. There are 16 Turkish medical people
whose H-index is more than 50.
One of those who have been told about the in 100 Turkish
researches that direct the medical science. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil,
who is currently working at Harvard University,
together with his latest research team, has developed a
mechanism that stimulates the cholesterol level when
it rises inside the cell and protects the cells against the
harmful effects of cholesterol.
