beach.
Nhưng phi ht sc c,n thn vì :
He couldn't have been more unfriendly when I met him first. = the most unfriendly
The surgery couldn't have been more unnecessary. = absolutely unnecessary
10.5 Cu trúc ph ñnh song song
Negative... even/still less/much less + noun/ verb in simple form: không ... mà li càng
không.
These students don't like reading novel, much less textbook.
Nhng sinh viên này ch.ng thích ñc tiu thuyt, ch chưa nói ñn sách giáo khoa.

10.6 Ph ñnh không dùng th ph ñnh ca ñng t
Mt s các phó t trong ting Anh mang nghĩa ph ñnh (negative adverb), khi ñã dùng
nó thì trong câu không dùng c"u to ph ñnh c a ñng t na:
Hardly, barely, scarcely = almost nothing/ almost not at all = hu như không.
Hardly ever, seldom, rarely = almost never = hu như không bao gi.
subject + negative adverb + positive verb
subject + to be + negative adverb
John rarely comes to class on time. (John ch.ng m"y khi ñn lp ñúng gi)
Tom hardly studied lastnight. (Tôm ch.ng hc gì ti qua)
She scarcely remembers the accident. (Cô "y khó mà nh ñưc v tai nn)
