finest in his field. He is open gay and
lost his partner, Arnie Zane, to AIDS
in 1988.

FILM FESTIVaL has changed
its name to MIX COPENHA-
GEN – LesbianGayBiTrans Film
Festival.
”Our new name symbolises
complete diversity – our core
public is LGBT, but all people
are welcome,” says festival director Kirstine Mølgaard.
”MIX COPENHAGEN is linked to international
LGBT film festivals such as MIX Brasil and MIX NYC,”
says Kirstine Mølgaard.
MIX COPENHAGEN will be from 21-30 October
2011. Most films are either in English or subtitled
in English.

StOP aIDS broadens work field
hEaLTh
ThE Gay MEn’S hIV OrGanISaTIOn is enlarging its work
field and target group.
In the future STOP AIDS plans to work with health issues
like smoking, alcohol and mental health problems. The target
group is enlarged to also include lesbians, bisexual women
and transgendered persons.
“We know from Sweden and Norway that certain health
problems are more present amongst lesbians than amongst
other women,” says STOP AIDS board member Line Kølby,
mentioning high consumption of marihuana and alcohol,
and high risk of breast cancer and suicide as examples.
“Of course, not all homosexuals, bisexuals and transgendered
persons have problems with depression, alcohol and
smoking. But many do have such problems in comparison
with the general population,” says Klaus Legau, Executive
Director at STOP AIDS.
