Out & abOut IN ENGLISH bill t. Jones at Royal Danish theatre STaGE ThE rOyaL DanISh ThEaTrE presents world-class international dance when Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company guest performs at the Old Stage with a programme specially composed for the Royal Danish Theatre. The American choreographer and dancer, Bill T. Jones, is amongst the finest in his field. He is open gay and lost his partner, Arnie Zane, to AIDS in 1988. The dance company’s 25th anni- Film festival gets new name FILM cOpEnhaGEn Gay & LESBIan FILM FESTIVaL has changed its name to MIX COPENHA- GEN – LesbianGayBiTrans Film Festival. ”Our new name symbolises complete diversity – our core public is LGBT, but all people are welcome,” says festival director Kirstine Mølgaard. ”MIX COPENHAGEN is linked to international LGBT film festivals such as MIX Brasil and MIX NYC,” says Kirstine Mølgaard. MIX COPENHAGEN will be from 21-30 October 2011. Most films are either in English or subtitled in English. 52 Out&abOut · januar 2011 versary performance, Serenade/The Proposition, puts human beings in historical perspective when Abraham Lincoln’s writings meld together with choreography, modern music with a classic touch and video art. Serenade/The Proposition will be presented with an earlier work by Bill T. Jones, showcasing his immense choreographic scope. In the future STOP AIDS plans to work with health issues like smoking, alcohol and mental health problems. The target group is enlarged to also include lesbians, bisexual women and transgendered persons. “We know from Sweden and Norway that certain health problems are more present amongst lesbians than amongst other women,” says STOP AIDS board member Line Kølby, mentioning high consumption of marihuana and alcohol, and high risk of breast cancer and suicide as examples. “Of course, not all homosexuals, bisexuals and transgendered persons have problems with depression, alcohol and smoking.
