EXHIBITION
The art elephants are on display from 1 June until 25 August all over Copenhagen. A map of
Copenhagen showing the locations of the elephants can be viewed on page 14. The card can
also be downloaded at elephantparade.dk or obtained from VisitCopenhagen.
HOW TO PLACE A BID:
• Online auction: Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers kicks off the sale of the art elephants with an
online auction. From Wednesday 1 June you can bid on the elephants at bruun-rasmussen.dk.
The bidding starts at DKK 8,000 per elephant.
• Live auction: The highest bid in the online auction will be the opening bid at the live auction
and gala dinner on Friday 9 September at Scandic Copenhagen, Vester Søgade 6, Copenhagen
V. Here, the art elephants will finally be auctioned off by Jesper Bruun Rasmussen. Guests
attending this event can bid live during the auction. To buy tickets for the live auction and

• Telephone bidding: If you are prevented to participate in the live auction, it is also possible to

CONDITION OF THE ELEPHANTS
The elephants are made of fibre glass, decorated by different artists and have had a surface treatment
so they can withstand wind and weather. On 25 August, all the elephants will be brought
to KPH Volume, Enghavevej 80-82, Copenhagen V, where they will be exhibited until the live
auction. Here they are going to be cleaned and restored. Please note that the elephants will be
bought as viewed, and accordingly Bruun Rasmussen cannot be held liable for any damage.
The dimensions: Standing elephants: H. 148 cm. L. 165 cm. W. 75 cm. Weight: 70 kilo.
Sitting elephants: H. 140 cm L. 180 cm W. 120 cm. Weight: 55 kilo.
Concrete pedestals: Standing elephants: 195x95x12 cm. Sitting elephants: 190x140x12 cm.
PRICE
The hammer price will be donated to the Elephant Parade for their work with Asian elephants.
You can find out more about how the funds raised will be used at elephantparade.dk. The
concrete pedestals of the elephants can be acquired by appointment. Bids and invoicing will be
in Danish kroner. The Danish National Bank’s official exchange rates will be used to convert
from DKK to euros. The amount in euros will be rounded up to a sum that Bruun Rasmussen
considers equates fairly to the amount in DKK.
VAT
The art elephants have not been sold previously, and accordingly VAT at 25% will be added to
the hammer price. The following buyers abroad are not subject to Danish charges:
• Buyers who are VAT registered in another EU Member State are exempt from paying Danish
VAT. Documentation of VAT registration must be presented to Bruun Rasmussen, and the
buyer’s VAT registration number will be included on the invoice.
• Buyers permanently resident outside the EU will have the Danish VAT refunded once the art elephant
in question has been presented for customs clearance in the course of export from Denmark.
PAYMENT
Payment for the art elephants can be made by cash and creditcard during and immediately
after the auction or until 18 September via bruun-rasmussen.dk and by bank transfer to Bruun
Rasmus sen’s account:

DELIVERY
Post Danmark stores and will ship the elephants to each buyer for the usual rate for up to 14
days after the end of the auction provided that payment is made promptly. To order shipping,
