Nontawat Numbenchapol ist Filmemacher<br />
und Autor für Fernsehserien aus Bangkok.<br />
Bevor er selbst Filme machte, arbeitete er viel<br />
mit Goldene Palme Gewinner Apichatpong<br />
Weerasethakul zusammen. Seine eigenen<br />
Filme sind eher dokumentarische Arbeiten<br />
und wurden auf großen Festivals, wie der<br />
Berlinale oder in Locarno, uraufgeführt.<br />
Mit seinem letzten Film „#BKKY“ konnte<br />
er im letzten Jahr den <strong>Filmtage</strong>-Jurypreis<br />
abräumen.<br />
Nontawat Numbenchapol is a film director and<br />
television screenwriter. Before making his own<br />
films, he collaborated frequently with Palme d’Or<br />
winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul. His own<br />
films are mostly documentary work and have been<br />
screened at the Berlinale and Locarno. His last<br />
film “#BKKY” won last year’s Jury Prize.<br />

ESRA ÖZBAN (Ankara, Türkei)<br />
Esra Özban ist nicht nur Wirtschafts- und<br />
Filmwissenschaftlerin aus Ankara, sondern<br />
auch Festivalkoordinatorin und Kuratorin<br />
des „Pembe Hayat Pink Life QueerFest“. Seit<br />
2011 findet das Festival in Ankara und in den<br />
letzten Jahren auch in Istanbul statt. Mit<br />
ihrem Team reist sie für einzelne Filmabende<br />
mittler weile durch die ganze Türkei, um mit<br />
dem Mittel der Kunst ein Bewusstsein für den<br />
Kampf von LGBTIQ* zu schaffen. Esra lehrt<br />
zudem an der Bilkent Universität Ankara und<br />
hat ihre Masterarbeit über „The Politics of<br />
Archive and Counter Archival Practices“ am<br />
Beispiel des Gezi Park Archivs geschrieben.<br />
Esra Özban has a degree in economics and film<br />
studies and currently works as a festival coordinator<br />
and programmer for “Pembe Hayat Pink Life<br />
QueerFest”. The festival has taken place in Ankara<br />
since 2011, and in Istanbul over the last couple<br />
of years. With additional film screenings all over<br />
Turkey, the QueerFest raises awareness for<br />
the struggle of LGBTIQ* through the use of art.<br />
Esra also works as a part-time lecturer at Bilkent<br />
University in the Communication and Design<br />
Department and wrote her master thesis on “The<br />
Politics of Archive and Counter-Archival Practices:<br />
The Case of Geziparkıarşivi’” (Gezi Park Archive).<br />

ROBIN K. SAALFELD (Jena, Deutschland)<br />
Robin K. Saalfeld hat an der Friedrich-Schiller-<br />
Universität Jena Medienwissenschaft, Sozio -<br />
lo gie und Psychologie studiert und ist dort<br />
seit 2013 wissenschaftliche_r Mitarbeit er_in<br />
am Lehrstuhl für Geschichte und Ästhetik der<br />
Medien, Institut für Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaften.<br />
Er* promoviert zur filmischen<br />
Repräsentation von Transgeschlechtlichkeit<br />
im zeitgenössischen Spielfilm. Weitere<br />
Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen<br />
der genderorientierten Filmwissenschaft,<br />
den Queer und Transgender Studies<br />
sowie der Filmsoziologie. Robin engagiert<br />
sich zudem (lokal-)politisch im Bereich<br />
Antisexismus, Queerfeminismus und<br />
Psychiatriekritik.<br />
Robin K. Saalfeld studied media science, sociology<br />
and psychology at the University of Jena where<br />
they have been a research associate at the Institute<br />
for Art und Cultural Studies since 2013. They are<br />
working on a PHD thesis about the representation<br />
of trans* in contemporary fiction film. Further<br />
research focuses are gender-oriented film studies,<br />
queer and transgender studies, as well as the<br />
sociology of film. Robin is politically engaged in<br />
the areas of anti-sexism, queer feminism and<br />
psychiatry criticism.<br />
