Wine is a unique patrimony which makes Piedmont an area of excellence
at a global level. With vineyards extending for 45 hectares on the hills
of Langhe and Monferrato, Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy
is a landmark of piedmontese winemaking, with roots tracing back to
the XVIII century. We craft fine wines, always elegant and able to enhance
a variety of experiences: from great celebrations, to everyday life.
Tenute Cisa Asinari dei Marchesi di Grésy owns four estates in Langhe
and Monferrato, home of the greatest piedmontese wines. The grapes
from these estates are vinified in Martinenga, a breathta-king natural
amphiteatre sorrounding our winery, in the heart of the Barbaresco
Docg. Martinenga is considered by many the best single vineyard of the
area, and it is exclusively owned by Marchesi di Grésy since 1797.
The Tenute Cisa Asinari di Grésy have been property of the family
since 1650. However, the grapes used to be sold to the best local wineries
untill Seventies.
Since 1973 Alberto di Grésy, while studying at Bocconi University in
Milan, understood the potential of this terroir and began his own
winemaking, turning his greatest passion into his profession.
Martinenga is the only monopole in the Barbaresco d.o.c.g. and it’s
widely considered one of, if not the best vineyard in the area. Here
the nebbiolo does not exceed in strenght, but excels in class and elegance,
hence Martinenga Barbarescos are uniques and immediately
recognizable.
