Changing and adding the SIM card
You will need tweezers and a TX6 screwdriver (torx). The changing should take place in clean conditions. We also
recommend that you change the rubbery SIM card lid when changing SIM card. SIM card lids are available at
Tracker service centre.
1. Remove the three screws by twisting counter-clockwise and remove the lid.
2. Use the tweezers to pull out the SIM card, if there is one in the device.
3. Put the new SIM card in place. NOTE! PIN code request must be OFF!
The card is going in the right way when the contact pads face the flex collar and the cut edge of the SIM
card is facing the charging socket 3.2.
When pushing the SIM card in, push it upwards a little bit (you can see the SIM holder suspension in the
slot)
Push gently with tweezers to make sure the card is fully in.
4. Close the lid by pressing until the lid is on the same level as the cover. You can knock the lid a bit with your
screwdriver‟s knob. Screw in the three screws by twisting clockwise lightly, but still enough that the top of the
screw is on the same level as the lid.
5. Make sure the device works by calling it or locating it with Tracker Hunter® application.
NOTE!
We recommend changing the SIM card at Tracker Service centre to ensure the device remains waterproof.
In case the operator or the phone number of the collar has changed, the collar has to be updated to Tracker
Live service (see chapter Changing the phone number of the device).
Switching ON
1. Place the device where GPS antenna 1.4 has unobstructed access/view to the sky.
2. Switch power ON.
The green light 1.2 will turn on for a few seconds.
When the green and red lights flash at three-second intervals, the device is searching for GPS satellites.
The device is operational when the green light alone is blinking.
3. Please verify the device functionality with a test call.
The device will let it ring three times untill the call is answered.
When tapping the collar close to the microphone can be heard on the phone, the line is open and
functioning.
4. Add the device to the Tracker Hunter® software in your mobile phone and test position it on the map.
see Adding a G400 or some other tracking device in Tracker Hunter®
NOTE!
Satellite connection is best achieved in the open air. In Tracker Hunter® you can see the amount of satellites
available in Menu > Messages (open the positioning message).
The GPS power of the device should be set to full power in the beginning and can be set to economy or off when
the target moves slowly or not at all. (Power adjustment is made from the Hunter software.) If you are using A-
GPS, power saving mode is adequate. (See GPS power modes)
The device will not necessarily function properly if GPS position has not been acquired before the device is put on
a dog. In case the device loses GPS satellites for 30 minutes, e.g. GPS antenna is facing down or the dog is
indoors, the position must be searched again, as you did in start-up phase.
The device sends fresh GPS position to the hunter‟s device when the hunter requests it. In case the device is not
able to get GPS position it will send the last known location from the memory after 5 minutes.
Putting the collar on
1. If the device is attached to a collar, it is important that the device is installed as shown in the picture 2
The power switch should face the neck of the dog
The microphone is located next to the charging socket. Install it towards the muzzle of the dog. 2.1
The collar buckle is placed on the other side of the GPS antenna in order to force the GPS antenna to face
the sky.
