Step 3: Starting and registering the software
1. Tracker Hunter® icon was created into your mobile phone menu during installation. The location of the
icon varies depending on your phone model. Find the icon and start the software by clicking on the Tracker
Hunter® icon.
2. When the application is started for the first time, the registration page will open first. There may be offered
two options to registrate:
Registration code: The registration code for installing the software is marked on the sticker for the package.
In electronic deliveries, it is in the delivery mail or on the Web page. Send the registration code by selecting
the left softkey (left selection key). NOTE! The code is case-sensitive.
Try&Buy: This option allows you to try the programme before activating version liable to charge.
Follow the instructions and enter all necessary information.
3. You may also add your collar to the programme. Use only letters and numbers when defining sharename
and passwords (see Tracker Hunter® vocabulary).
Your Tracker Hunter® software is now ready for use.
NOTE! In many phones you can set shortcut keys for home screen. By setting Tracker Hunter® into some shortcut
key you can start it faster and do not need to browse through menus to open the software.
Adding a G400 or some other tracking device in Tracker Hunter®
If you didn‟t add a collar as a target already when registering to Tracker Hunter®, you can do so by following these
instructions:
1. Choose Targets > All targets > Dogs > Add target.
Tracker Hunter® asks whether you want to create a new target or retrieve an existing one from the Tracker
Live service. When you assign your dog for the first time, choose New track device, and then Next. If the
target has already been added to the service, choose Search on Tracker Live service.
2. Define local settings – the name of the target, icon, telephone number, and device type – by clicking the
joystick for each question and entering the required information. Choose Next > Done.
3. When the programme asks whether you have already registered the target in the Tracker Live service,
answer „No‟. Then it asks whether you want to register the target in the Tracker Live service. Answer
„Yes‟.
4. Continue by following the instructions on the screen. When Hunter asks for a share name and passwords,
you should define them yourself and memorise / write down this information. You will need this information
later. When the system asks for a collar operator, choose that operator from the list whose SIM card you
have inserted in the collar. Use only letters and numbers for your username and sharename
5. After that, the collar is registered to the Tracker Live service. This may take several minutes, depending
on the Internet connection speed. The application informs you when registration is completed. The Tracker
Live icon on the target list next to the target turns green.
6. When registering the collar, A-GPS commands will be sent to the collar and the background tracking wil be
started. Answer yes to the questions concerning the sending of the commands.
7. Run a test tracking: Go to the Map and choose Targets > Locate. Wait a moment, and you will receive
notification of receipt of the location information. You will also see that the time of the location information
changes to a few seconds.
NOTE!
When defining the telephone number remember the country code (+358… in Finland, for example). It is important
that you choose the right device model.
Ensure that the collar is on and loaded, and that the collar indicator light indicates that location information is
available (see Tracker G400 > Led lights). The best way to obtain location information is to go outside.
Managing your dog tracking device
After adding your dog as a target, you can locate, track and manage it via Target Menu. You can reach the
Target‟s menu by going to Targets > All targets > Dogs > (Name of the device) and choose Menu .This is called
Target Menu.
