DAS ENTWICKLUNGSKONZEPT „PÖLS 500+“
Zur Sicherstellung der langfristigen Wettbewerbsfähigkeit unseres
Unternehmens haben wir im Jahre 2003 mit der Ausarbeitung
eines langfristigen Standort-Entwicklungskonzeptes begonnen.
Dieses im Einklang mit unserer nachhaltigen Umweltpolitik stehende
Konzept „Pöls 500+“ vereint die Potentiale und Fachkompetenzen
am Standort mit den strategischen Ausrichtungen
der Heinzel Group.
Das Konzept sieht folgende mögliche Ausbaustufen vor:
� Ausbau der Zellstoffkapazität bis 420.000 Jahrestonnen
� Bau eines Biomassekraftwerkes, abhängig von der Entwicklung
der Gesetzeslage bezüglich des Ökostromes
� Ausbau der bestehenden Papierkapazität auf bis zu 250.000
Jahrestonnen spezieller Verpackungspapiere.
Die Umsetzung der 1. Phase zur Kapazitätserweiterung wurde
2003 vom Aufsichtsrat genehmigt und so konnte nach erfolgter
Umweltverträglichkeitsprüfung (UVP) im September 2005 nahezu
zeitgleich mit dem 100-jährigen Jubiläum der industriellen
Zellstoffproduktion in Pöls der symbolische Spatenstich für den
Werkausbau gefeiert werden. Die ersten Schritte für die Kapazitätserweiterung
im Zellstoffbereich wurden bereits erfolgreich
durchgeführt. Die Umbauten und Erweiterungen in den einzelnen
Abschnitten ermöglichen uns, viele Komponenten und Prozesse
auf den letzten Stand der Technik zu bringen und damit auch
einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Entlastung der Umwelt zu leisten.
Mit einem hohen Maß an Kreativität und Innovationsgeist stellen
wir uns der Herausforderung, die die weiteren Realisierungsschritte
des Konzeptes mit sich bringen.

THE DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT “PÖLS 500+”
To ensure the long-term competitiveness of our company,
in 2003 we began with the preparation of a
long-term concept for developing our production location.
Called “Pöls 500+,” this concept is consistent
with our sustainable environmental policies and
combines the potential and the professional competencies
at this location with the strategic orientation
of the Heinzel Group.
The concept envisages the following potential stages
of expansion:
� Expansion of the pulp production capacity to a level
of 420,000 annual tons
� Construction of a biomass energy plant, depending
on the development of the legal situation in relation
to biomass electricity
� Expansion of the existing paper production capacity
to a level of up to 250,000 annual tons of special
packaging paper.
The implementation of the first phase of the expansion
of capacity was approved in 2003 by the Supervisory
Board and so, once the environmental impact
assessment was completed, we were able to celebrate
the symbolic groundbreaking for the expansion
of the plant almost concurrently with the 100-year
anniversary of the beginning of industrial pulp production
in Pöls in September 2005. The first steps
for this capacity expansion in the pulp sector have
already been successfully completed. The refurbishment
and expansion in individual stages has enabled
us to bring many components and processes to a
state-of-the-art level, thus making a valuable contribution
to easing the burden on the environment.
We are facing the challenges that the next stages of
the expansion project will bring with a high degree
of creativity and innovative spirit.
