und EXCELLENT DESIGN gehört, die uns die Verbindung

dass wir in puncto Qualität keine Kompromisse eingehen.

As the 19th century French moralist and essayist
Joseph Joubert once said, “What is true by lamplight
is not always true by sunlight.”
Joubert’s adage has spurred us time and time again
to rethink our actions, our policies, and practices – as
well as to take a closer look at and reflect on them.
With the present book, we invite you to do likewise.
You may well be aware of the values and traditions we
uphold and the mission we have set ourselves as a
company, as well as our penchant for innovation. You
also may have heard of our guiding principles, namely

which enable us to design and manufacture snazzy
looking products that integrate the best available
technology. But apart from all that, did you know that
our products have won more than 30 design prizes
over the past few years? You no doubt do know
about our unwavering commitment to quality, and that
when it comes to energy efficiency and environmental
stewardship, we’re a company that puts our money
where our mouth is, i.e. we don’t just enunciate these
principles, we also act on them – to the hilt. But did
you know, for example, that our simplified approach
to light management systems is now regarded as a
pioneering breakthrough?
So how does one go about living up to these tenets
and principles in everyday professional life? How do
you intermesh them with the exigencies of architecture
and interior design so that you are always maximizing
light quality, comfort and safety?
The buildings shown in this book that contain RZB
luminaires and luminaire systems show how this can
be done. For us, Global Impressions is all about keeping
faith with and inspiring the individuals and companies
around the world that buy and use our products.
This book also shows you what we mean when we
talk about taking a closer look – whether by lamplight
or sunlight.
