Front Bezel Rotary Lock Chapter 2: Hardware Installation Step 2. Open th e fr ont b ezel on th e d rive tr ay. Push t he release but ton on the dr ive tray. The f ront b ezel will spring open. Drive Tray Release Button Step 3. Align the drive tray with a drive bay. Gently slide it in u ntil t he dr ive tray r eaches the end of the drive bay. This should be done smoothly and gently. Make sure the front bezel is closed pr operly t o e nsure t hat t he b ack-end connector is pr operly m ated with t he c orresponding connector on the backplane. If the front bezel can not be closed properly, the connection between the hard drive and backplane may come loose and mysterious drive signals may result. Step 5. Lock the bezel into place by turning the rotary bezel lock unt il the groove on its f ace i s poi nting d own (vertical orientation). Front Bezel Rotary Lock Step 6. Once the drive bays are populated and the system is powered on, t he R AID c ontroller will a utomatically spin up the hard drives and recognize their presence. 2.10 Installing CBM (Optional) The CBM (Cache Backup Module) is an optional item for the singlecontroller Galaxy <strong>HDX4</strong> system. If purchased, install the CBM on the arrival of your s ystem before i nstalling the RAID c ontroller into t he subsystem. A C BM m odule c ontains a BBU ( Battery Backup U nit) and a FBM (Flash Backup Module). To install a CBM module (Skip steps 1-4 if installing CBM in a new system): Step 1. 1-1. If a system is powered on, stop host I/Os. 1-2. Use the “Shutdown Controller” command to flush cached data. 1-3. Power down the system. Step 2. Remove RAID controller from the chassis by loosening screws under the ejection levers.
