A heated discussion was had by Chas. M. Miller and, M, Huber Hess concerning pu'shing snow near tbe curb in and about Centre Square, Relief Committee: -No report. Street Light Committee: M. Huber Hess reported. that street lights had been turned off at six o'clock in the morning and it was stated. that arrangements had been made to have tbe lights kept on until seven otclocky ADAMS The Secretary reported that advertising bids would. be inserted in the ne wspaper for the street lighting contract and that Borough Council would take action on January 2, 1939 at their meeting. The Secretary read. . :. to:~. the Council, the Resolution of respect on the death of Senator Jo~r G. Homsher. On motion of, E ~ . R. Murphy, second. ed by M. Huber Hess, it was resolved that the Resolution be accepted and that a copy of it be placed on the Minutes and that a copy be forwarded to the family of the d. eeeased. Murphy, and duly passed, it was resolved that 4750, 00 be appropriated from the Gene ral Fund to the Sinking Fund, and that the Secretary be directed to'draw a voucher in the abo ve sum, payable to W. J, Weaver, Treasurer of t;he Sinking Fund Account ~ Fred. L. Homsner suggested. that Borough Council, pursuant to' refinancing their bonds, retain the Milton Nowery mortgage, which is now in the Sinking Fund Account, by transf err ing the same to the Relief Fund. He further suggested that the mortgage held by the Borough against the property of Wm. J ~ Schilling, of R ~ F, D. $1, Ronks, Pa. , which is now in the Sinking Fund, Account, be called. On motion of Harld. ' H. Messner, seconded. by M. Huber Hess, and duly passed, it, was resolved. that the Mowery mortgage be transfered from the, Sinking Fund to the Relief Fund, and t;ha t the Schilling mortgage be called, Fred. L. Homsher reported that he was having prepared. a list of all delinquent /water rent;s and. . that the same would b e available at the next meeting of Council.
