MINUTE/ OF MEETING OF STRASBURG BOROUGH COUNCIL HELD JULY 3p 19&9o The meet;ing was called to order by Milton H, Ranck, President, The following were present: Burgess Frank B. Koch Water Super intendent Jacob H, Ranck Secretary John Milton Ranck and. the following members of Council; Milton H ~ Ranck M. Huber Hess Haro ld H. Me s sne r Sherman W, Book Wm. T ~ Koch E. R, Murphy Chas. M. Mi lie r The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Secretary reported that H. C ~ Kaufman had approved. the Lan- caster Valite Company bills for street dressing on Nolt~s Hill and that vouchers had been issued in payment" 't'hereof, 9'acob H. Ranck, Water Superintendent, reported that there was plenty of overflow at both places, and. that a leak had been fixed on Franklin Street near the Gertrude Galen property, Chas. M. Miller reported that all the springs have been numbered, M. Huber Hess reported that the fire hose hand cart had been re- paired and recommended that tbe hoses be flushed. and tested pur cba s ed. jacob H. Book suggested that vre have a "STOP" sign erected on South Decat;ur Street, at the Borough limits. Harold H. Messner submitted drafts of North Decatur- Street, showing both the 38~ and 34' stre'et width. He reported. conversations vrith Lem Bair, who stated. that he was vrilling to have eit;her a 34r or a 38r street but suggest ed. that; pavement be laid on the North Decatur side of the John Hagenrs property The Borough Solicitor was instructed to obtain information as to any past Ordinance tbe Borough may have had dealing vrith the appropriat ion of land on North Decatur Street for a 38' street, and also in the absence of shah as to the taking of land for tbe vridening of the street and payment of damages therefor. Jackson Streets' Burgess Frank B. Koch suggested that weeds be cut; along Funk and William T ~ Koch asked for information with regard. to drainage of surface vrater on the Main Street with regard to reporting the same to the State Highway Department in that tbe Main Street of Strasburg Borough is a State-Highvray. Harold H. Messner stated. that he would take up the matter with the St;ate Highway Department. Chas. M. Miller sought information on the question of garbage dis- posal pits, the power of the Borough to control the same and if found to be a nuisance how they should be removed.
