Leakage is not considered for the reasons mentioned in section A.2 above.
Shifts of pre-project activities and emissions from the production of renewable biomass
Neither of these is applicable since the biomass is waste and these indicators are thus not monitored.
Competing uses of the Biomass
In order to show that there is a surplus of the biomass in the region of the project activity, which is not utilised, it will be demonstrated annually that the quantity of available
biomass in the region (e.g. 50 km radius), is at least 25% larger than the quantity of biomass that is utilised including the project activity and, therefore, this source of leakage
can be neglected. For this purpose the amount of available and utilised sawdust and woodchips in the region is determined by surveys.
Phase 3
Leakage is not considered as the energy efficiency technology is not equipment transferred from another activity.
