3-3, 3-5 Low Carbon content and calorific value of auxiliary coal – the quality assurance manager at Letaba estates will ensure
that separate record is kept of the carbon content and calorific value of auxiliary coal.
3-4 Low The amount of coal burnt is recorded by Letaba. The Quality Assurance Manager at Letaba Estates will ensure
that separate record is kept of auxiliary coal being burnt in the boilers.
3.6 – 3.12 Low The Quality Assurance Manager at Letaba Estates will ensure that record is kept of these variables. All these
variables would be recorded in the natural course of business in any event.

3.14 Medium In order to determine the biomass available in the region as accurately as possible the stocks at the facilities as
listed in A.4.1.4 will be monitored by annual field visits and interviews. The sites make up a very large proportion of
the feedstock in the region and will be a representative sample of what happens in the region. It will be assumed
that these sites continue to represent the same proportion of the total as in the baseline

Letaba Estates will continue to bear responsibility for transporting and delivering the feedstock (as in the status quo). Letaba Estates would further continue to take
responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the plant in its totality, as in the status quo. BioTherm Energy will be responsible for full project development including
CDM. BioTherm Energy would further facilitate and enter into the necessary feedstock supply agreements. The assets installed would belong to Letaba Estates.. Letaba
Estates will be responsible for maintaining daily QC and QA standards.
Letaba Estates presently uses the Requirements for a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (“HACCP”) quality control system as published by Standards South Africa.
The system is managed and administered by the Quality Assurance Manager at Letaba Estates. The present project will use the existing HACCP quality control system and
the personnel that are already in place.
The seven principles of the HACCP system are as follows:
Principle 1: Conduct a hazard analysis;
Principle 2 : Determine critical control points (“CCP’s”);
Principle 3: Establish critical limits to ensure each CCP is under control;
