Did you find it easy? Why (not)? A persuasive writer may make opinions look like facts
–especially when it is difficult for the reader to contradict them, or will skilfully use
facts to support his/her opinions.
L. Follow up–writing an opinion. Write persuasively around 100 words about one
of the following topics. Before you start, don’t forget to do some brainstorming
and to organise your ideas:
a) My town is the most beautiful place in the world.
b) The Spanish omelette is the most wonderful food in the world.
Express your opinion clearly. You can support it with facts.
Some useful expressions would be: In my opinion, the way I see
it, I believe, I think that…; or else you can try to make your
composition look more factual, omitting that what you are
saying is just an opinion.
When you finish, exchange it with your partner and give each other suggestions to
make it better.
