Gentlemen! I appeal to your sense of reason and justice<br />
that you should either produce from your scriptures such true<br />
and rationally compelling arguments as I shall produce from<br />
the Holy Quran, beginning with Chapter 1, or else show some<br />
modesty and decency and stop slandering. But above all, if<br />
you have any fear of God and desire for salvation, you must<br />
believe [in Islam].<br />
Having set out all the preliminary points that I had<br />
intended, I shall now conclude this preface. The main text of<br />
the book will follow wherein arguments for the divine origin<br />
of the Holy Quran and truthfulness of the Holy Prophet<br />
shall be laid down in detail. These arguments—whose excellence<br />
and incontrovertible nature has compelled me to include<br />
in this book a challenge of 10,000 rupees to anyone who can<br />
refute them—shall be adduced from the Holy Quran itself.<br />
This method of presenting rational arguments solely on the<br />
basis of Word of God is in itself a criterion that marks a clear<br />
distinction between us Muslims and our opponents, and<br />
should be enough to open the eyes of every reasonable person.<br />
It is a guiding light that will readily tell apart the truthful from<br />
the liar.<br />
To all those who deny Islam, I would say that if they have<br />
any reservations in accepting the Holy Quran as the true Word<br />
of God and admitting its superiority, they are under obligation<br />
to logically disprove these proofs and arguments on the<br />
basis of their own scriptures. Otherwise, you are aware, and<br />
any honest person understands, that once the truth and superiority<br />
of a Divine Book has been established through hundreds<br />
