Functioning After Pediatric Cochlear Implantation (FAPCI)
(Lin, Ceh, Bervinchak, and Niparko, 2006)
Recommended Age: 2 to 5 years old, with cochlear implant(s)
Description: The FAPCI is utilized to evaluate the real-world verbal
communicative performance of children using cochlear implants. It is in survey
format that is completed by the child’s parent or primary caregiver and has
been designed to be a completely self-administered instrument for Englishspeakers
with a > 8th grade reading level. There is no need for a test
administrator to be present to provide directions or answer questions.

Goldman-Fristoe-Woodcock Test of Auditory Discrimination

Recommended Age: Minimum of 3 years
Description: This test is designed to provide measures of speech-sound
discrimination ability when given a picture prompt. The test is divided into the
following sections: training procedure, quiet subtest, and noise subtest.
