Teacher Assessment of Spoken Language (TASL)

Description: The TASL is a teacher rating form which was designed to rate the
sentence structure of children who are deaf and hard of hearing. The TASL
evaluates the development of spoken language from first words through the use
of complex sentences. A manual accompanies the rating forms and describes
the criteria for rating.

Test of Semantic Skills – Primary (TOSS-P)

Recommended age: 4 years to 8 years
Description: The TOSS-P is a receptive and expressive diagnostic test designed to
assess a child’s semantic skills. The receptive and expressive subtests include:
labels, categories, attributes, functions, and definitions. This test has been
carefully developed to meet the need to analyze the receptive and expressive
skills that are crucial for conversation, reading comprehension, and academic
achievement. Test results provide standardized analyses of receptive, expressive,
and overall semantic and vocabulary abilities, a thorough discussion of
performance, and clear direction for where to start therapy.
