STRUCTURES<br />

The <strong>Holy</strong> Rosary Parish Church (Brgy.<br />

Sto. Rosario) Built in 1877 on a land donated<br />

by Don Mariano Vicente Henson y<br />

Miranda and wife Doña Asuncion Leon<br />

Santos; the adobe blocks were quarried in<br />

Mancatian, Porac; the galvanized iron roofing<br />

was imported from England. Its design<br />

was Central European Romanesque. Revolutionaries<br />

used the belfries as watch towers;<br />

Gen. Arthur MacArthur converted the<br />

church into a military hospital and the belfries<br />

into watch towers in 1899-1904; in<br />

World War II, the Japanese used the church<br />

as garage and horse stable; its dome was<br />

heavily damaged when an US B-25 bomber<br />

hit it before crashing into the <strong>Holy</strong> <strong>Angel</strong><br />

HERITAGE HOUSES<br />

House of <strong>Angel</strong> Pantaleon de Miranda<br />

(Founder’s House) (Brgy.Sto.Rosario) Built<br />

in 1824 by Don <strong>Angel</strong> Pantaleon de Miranda<br />

and Doña Rosalia de Jesus; most of the<br />

materials came from their original 1811<br />

house in barrio Cutcut; after the couple’s<br />

death, the house was inherited by their<br />

daughter Juana de Miranda, wife of Dr.<br />

Mariano Henson, and later by Don Mariano<br />

Vicente Henson. When Don Mariano died<br />

in 1917, the house was passed on to a son,<br />

Jose Pedro Henson; after his death in 1949,<br />

it went to his son, Vicente N. Henson who<br />

later bequeathed it to his daughter, Rosalie<br />

Henson, wife of Sergio Naguiat<br />

Pamintuan Mansion (Brgy. Sto. Rosario)<br />

Built by Don Mariano Pamintuan and Doña<br />

Valentina Torres in 1890 as a wedding gift<br />

to their only son, Don Florentino<br />

Pamintuan. On June 12, 1899, first anniversary<br />

of the Philippine Independence,<br />

Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo watched from the<br />

mansion a parade of revolutionary troops<br />

led by Gen. Gregorio del Pilar and Gen.<br />
