Christopher Catling has written more than

Eyewitness guides to Florence and Venice.
He also contributed to the Portugal, Italy

When not writing books, he works as an
archaeologist and heritage consultant. He
is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries
and the Royal Society of Arts, and a member
of the British Guild of Travel Writers. He
loves Madeira, and never grows tired of
visiting it to walk, and to enjoy the food
and warm hospitality of the islanders.
