Small tree with altern<strong>at</strong>e, toothed leaves and white,<br />

many-petaled flowers in dense, hanging racemes.<br />

Uncommon in open forest on lava flows and in<br />

scrub forest, reported from near sea level to 550 m<br />

elev<strong>at</strong>ion. Indigenous, also found in Tonga.<br />
