Help provide for the financial future of Virginia Theological Seminary
The Francis Scott Key Society
Since the founding of Virginia Seminary in 1823, a tradition of generous giving has enabled the Seminary
to prepare the hearts and minds of those who bring the good news of Christ to the world. Many loving
and thoughtful individuals were present at the creation of the Protestant Episcopal Theological Seminary
in Virginia. The gifts of their spirit and substance fi rst brought the Seminary into existence. These persons
included Francis Scott Key, William Wilmer, Reuel Keith, William Meade, Richard Channing Moore, and
Edmund Jennings Lee.
Please give prayerful consideration to joining us and the many loving and thoughtful friends of VTS
who have followed the example of Francis Scott Key in the nearly 200 years since the Seminary’s creation.
You can include VTS in your estate plan, for example, by designating the Seminary as a benefi ciary in your
will or trust, your life insurance policy, your IRA, or by establishing a charitable gift annuity. This form of
stewardship is a permanent way of helping those called to leadership in the church in generations to come.
If you have already made a commitment to the Seminary in your estate plan that we may not be
aware of, we thank you. Please let us know so we can honor you as members of the Society.
With thanks for your prayers and support,
