VIRGINIA SEMINARY JOURNAL AUGUST 2007 LOOKING WITH MOMENTUM TO THE FUTURE Each year at this time we are privileged to honor the generosity of those devoted graduates, friends, foundations, and parishes who follow a proud tradition of providing philanthropic support for Virginia Seminary. They contribute to the Seminary’s Annual Fund, provide timely fi nancial support for special initiatives, and help build the Seminary’s endowment. Without those gifts the Seminary could not carry out its timeless mission. Contributions received during the June 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007 fi scal year are recognized in this issue of the Seminary Journal. Your generosity makes a real difference to the students and life of the Seminary. As we bid farewell to Dean Horne, and welcome Dr. Ian Markham as the 14 th Dean and President of Virginia Seminary in August, the Seminary is thankful for the positive way so many graduates and friends have supported a number of important initiatives during Martha Horne’s distinguished tenure as Dean and President. A few of the more recent initiatives are highlighted in this Annual Report. ANNUAL REPORT June 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007 Each year in the Annual Report we also honor members of The Francis Scott Key Society: those individuals who during their lifetime have made provisions in their estate plans to help support the fi nancial future of the Seminary. We are honored that Mrs. Jesse Trotter and the Rt. Rev. A. Theodore Eastman serve as co-chairs of The Francis Scott Key Society, and are grateful for their efforts to encourage graduates and friends to join them by supporting Virginia Seminary in this special manner. There are currently 238 Members of The Francis Scott Key Society, with 123 new members since June 1, 2002.
