The Joseph M. Barry Career &
Technical Education Center (Barry
Tech) provides high school students
with the opportunity to explore their
careers of choice and develop skills to
become leaders of the 21st century.
The caring, experienced staff motivates
our students to reach their highest potential. Students
are challenged academically, theoretically, and practically,
while engaging in hands-on experiences.
As you thumb through our course catalog, you’ll see
that we are not only one of the most advanced, innovative
Career and Technical Education Centers in New York
State, but we are also on the forefront of environmental
thinking. Our future is at stake, and our courses will teach
you, our future leaders, how to [re]Think our environment
by using innovative sustainability ideas.
Together with our industry partners, we provide workbased
learning programs through Co-Ops, internships,
and clinic rotations. Our College Center works with career
institutes and colleges to provide the opportunity to earn
articulation agreement credits, which can be used for
post-secondary advancement at 2- and 4-year colleges and
technical schools.
We offer an assortment of leadership activities, including
SkillsUSA, Future Farmers of America, and Student
Ambassadors. Additionally, you will have the opportunity
to participate in community service activities, such as
Habitat for Humanity, and our blood, food, and animal
food drives. Accomplishments are highlighted at the
Annual Fashion Show, National Technical Honor Society
(NTHS), Certificate Ceremony, and Outstanding Student
Awards, as well as local, state, and national competitions.
